They claimed that they lost contact with Siriyawathi Fernando while she was employed in Kuwait. The 29 year old had gone to Kuwait in 2014 on a two year contract. A complaint was filed with the Chilaw Police today claiming a woman from the area has been killed in Kuwait.The family of the woman said to have been killed in Kuwait filed the Police complaint today. The family had received a telephone call earlier saying Siriyawathi Fernando’s life was under threat. In the Police complaint, the family says they have not heard from Siriyawathi Fernando for a couple of months and so they believe she may have been killed.The family also claimed that a complaint had been filed a few days ago saying Siriyawathi Fernando’s life was at risk yet no action was taken. Matt Bevin says an eastern water district has been approved for a $2 million grant to replace its aging water meters.The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Southern Water and Sewer District was approved for a grant from the Abandoned Mine Lands Pilot Program. The district serves about 5,400 customers in Floyd and Knott counties.- Advertisement – Southern’s Chairman Jeff Prater says replacing the meters would lower water bills, stop the district from losing water and pinpoint leaks and other line failures.Several Kentucky water districts have suffered from high rates of water loss because of infrastructural failures. An expensive flat rate of $58.82 was implemented for Southern in June to boost revenue. The utility said it was losing $40,000 to $50,000 a month and couldn’t stay in business without the increase.
