Paramount making Windows Phone 7 movies more DVDlike with Silverlight

first_imgWatching films on a smartphone isn’t exactly an ideal affair, and not a lot of people do it, but Paramount has some interesting ideas on how to change that: they want to make movies watched on smartphones interactive, thanks to Windows Phone 7 and Silverlight. They’re launching the new movie line this week, starting with the Jack Black classic School of Rock, and following with nine other movies, including Zoolander, GI JOE: The Rise of Cobra and Waiting for Superman, with the rest of the titles still unannounced.AdChoices广告These movies will be enhanced with Silverlight so that they not only come with the movie themselves, but also have an interactive range of extras including trailers, DVD-like special features, a Scene It? pop-up trivia mode and the ability to create your own custom movie clips.Pretty neat: it’s bringing the DVD experience to Windows Phone 7 devices. A good way to justify the $10 asking price they want per film: not expensive compared to a DVD, of course, but a lot to pay for a movie you can only watch on your phone.last_img read more
